About
Y2k had the country in a bit of a panic, gas was only $1.26, and mobile phones broke through the perceived “Yuppie” barrier to become increasingly more popular among the middle-class. It was the year 2000 and I was a junior in high school. It was also the year that I picked up my first SLR camera. It was film. At that time, a digital camera was much too expensive for a high school student working at East of Chicago Pizza as a part-time waitress. After one long afternoon of taking a bunch of photos that when developed, came out looking like…well…like I had no idea how to operate a camera, I promptly put it away in my closet. Deep, deep, deep into the far, dark corner of my closet. I’m fairly certain it’s still there, now that I think of it.
So what in the world am I doing as a professional photographer?
Well, while I may have given up on that dream, God never did.
Fast forward five years, my wonderful then-boyfriend (who is now my husband) bought me a digital SLR camera for my birthday. Slowly but surely, I became a casual picture taker at parties who then morphed into an amateur hobbiest, until one morning I woke up a professional photographer. It was my first wedding and I only charged $200, but by golly, I was getting paid and that made me a professional!
Now, I’m a national wedding photographer based in Nashville, Tennessee who’s been blessed to photograph some of the best
clients in the world.
From “yes” to “I do,” I have the privilege of capturing those special moments of love so that they can keep those memories for life.
And while the lights didn’t even flicker on New Year’s Eve 2000, the price of gas doubled, and I’m probably the only 26-year-old you will ever meet who has a hard time texting on her cell phone…I can honestly say that I love my job.
Give me a call or send me an email (Text? Not so much.) because I’d love to be able to make your moments of love into memories for live.
